Terms
Reading and purchase terms
These terms explain History Wake's books, one-time purchases, support and use of the app.
Publisher and acceptance
History Wake is published by Ken Eric Chalk trading as History Wake, ABN 43 949 110 407, Australia. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms and the applicable store terms. If a parent or guardian's consent is required where you live, they must review and agree to the terms.
Licence and ownership
Subject to these terms and the applicable store licence, History Wake grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-commercial right to use the app and books on supported devices. The app, writing, artwork, audio presentation, design and other content remain the intellectual property of History Wake or its licensors.
You must not sell, redistribute, publicly perform, scrape, copy or reverse engineer the app or content except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law or a store licence.
Books and one-time unlocks
Titanic is included without a separate book purchase. Other paid books are separate, one-time non-consumable in-app purchases, not subscriptions. The applicable store displays the local price and processes payment. History Wake grants access only after the purchase is verified and RevenueCat returns the matching active entitlement.
Restoration, refunds and consumer rights
An eligible purchase can be restored on the same platform using the store account that made it. Restoration does not create a new charge. Apple purchases do not transfer to Android and Google Play purchases do not transfer to iOS in release 1.
Refund requests follow the applicable store process. Apple decides refund requests for Apple purchases; for Google Play purchases, use Google Play's refund process or contact History Wake support. A refund or revocation may remove the matching entitlement when the app next refreshes, but it does not delete reading progress saved on the device.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a guarantee is not met, the available remedy depends on the nature and seriousness of the problem and may include a repair or other fix, replacement, refund or cancellation, and compensation where applicable. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Historical presentation and content advisory
History Wake is an authored, interactive historical experience. Historical events and people are researched, but dialogue, scenes, narration, timing and reader choices may be reconstructed, compressed or dramatised. Choices change a reader's route through the work; they do not change the underlying historical outcome. The content is not professional, academic or safety advice.
Some books depict conflict, disaster, death, violence and other mature themes. Review the content advisory shown for a book before reading. History Wake is not directed to children.
Availability and updates
History Wake may release updates to fix faults, improve compatibility, meet store requirements or revise content. Internet and store services are needed for price checks, purchases and restoration, so those functions may be temporarily unavailable. We do not promise that every device or operating-system version will remain supported indefinitely. This section does not limit mandatory consumer rights.
Platform terms and support
For Apple-distributed copies, the licence to use History Wake, including content purchased within it, is governed by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These purchase and support terms supplement that licence; they do not replace it or limit mandatory consumer rights. History Wake's publisher provides maintenance and support for the app; Apple has no obligation to provide them.
Google Play distribution and purchases are also subject to the applicable Google Play terms.
